Derby day controversey

Sophie Champion

This is who should have won, clearly the judges made a mistake!! As I will explain yesterday at derby day the judging was so ridiculous that some how TWO of the same dress ended up in the final 10 best outfits, hhmmm that's weird, but then look a bit closer and you will find one of the judges is actually wearing the same dress as well!!! That is unacceptable!

There was some absolute stunning outfits on display yesterday despite the drab conditions. Many ladies this year have been inspired from the 1950's inspired show, mad men.

Once again we also saw the strong pull of Australian designer outfits in the top ten that may or may not have deserve it......to name a couple Alex Perry, Alannha Hill and of course one of the top selling brands in Myer,CUE, come on judges on the panel I think you and I both know that was not a coincidence.
The top three on Derby day

From talking to the ladies in the crowd, the overall feelings from the judging selection was boring, uneventful and lacked originality. Lets hope the judges pick up their game for the following two big days.

Melbourne Cup November 2nd

Oaks Day November 4th

See you all there looking absolutely amazing and make sure you add a umbrella to your outfit.

A day at Windy Caulfield - Images

In Conclusion, a chilly wind, some good fashions but not amazing. Project runway reality stars where in full outfits today looking amazing. Disappointed about the number of girls going through to the finals wearing good quality hat designs. Typical judging style today unpredictable but not an over excited result.

Great work today to the ladies in their best fashions who braved the weather today!! That is a true fashionista!
Don't forget COX PLATE next Saturday 23rd of October and the following Saturday Derby day.

Until next time xoxo
